Wedding Portraits in the Rain

Few wedding couples hope for rain on their wedding day, but the best couples embrace a rainy day portrait session when it happens!

Karin and Jarrold are a delightful Dutch couple that decided to elope in New York City and enjoy an epic honeymoon across the United States before returning to Europe for a wedding celebration back home. They wed in Central Park and asked to take portraits after the ceremony there, in Times Square, and in the Meatpacking District as well. Much like Oregon, a good chunk of spring is potentially rainy in New York City. So when the rain forecast arrived with half the afternoon looking like a washout, Karin worried.

Luckily, the real rain held off until the end of our shoot! We had sprinkles here and there a few times but avoided the worst of it. And the sprinkles helped Times Square empty just enough to capture some classic portraits for the couple.

Turn Loose the Art happily photographs all kinds of weddings. Weekday weddings on Monday through Thursday and off-season weddings may qualify for our elopement rates. Check in with us if you also would like us to photograph your intimate wedding!
