Waiting for the Wedding to Start

Portland-Oregon-Wedding-Photographer MPP081015 copy-2Most of the weddings I get hired to shoot begin when the bride begins to get her hair and makeup started.
That usually means I’m at the venue or the hotel hours before the ceremony. And, while there is always a lot to shoot during the bride and her bridesmaids preparation time, there is often also a lot of time to shoot other things that aren’t so scheduled. Sometimes, those moments produce photos that are fun and help set the scene for the wedding day. A complete wedding story, told in pictures, is always helped by these little off-moments that can’t be found on a list of “must have” photos printed in a wedding magazine. In fact, most of the best photos that come from a wedding day are unpredictable and not staged or created.
