Working on my new website, and going through past weddings, I ran across one of my favorite weddings that I photographed at Skamania Lodge, in the scenic Columbia River Gorge. Skamania Lodge does one of my favorite Sunday brunches, so it’s always a pleasure photographing there. I especially love photographing traditional weddings, and one of the best parts of a Jewish wedding is the hora dance, of course. I love seeing the looks on the faces while people are being lifted in the air. The band, Shawn’s Kugel, had the guests dancing all night long, including the bride, Marissa, who was sporting an elegant dress from The English Department and a very fancy cast on her wedding day. Marissa’s mom, Carol, is an accomplished photographer that I admire, and her dad Daniel is a respected rabbi that I’ve worked with several times. I love their expressions in this photo.
