Remembering 2014

Mt. Hood Bed & Breakfast Wedding SunsetWhile I am not personally a fan of New Year’s resolutions, I really love the reflection upon the prior year that the transition to a New Year brings along. The gratitudes for relationships built, challenges we triumphed over and the personal accomplishments achieved always make me feel warm and fuzzy and nostalgic. I feel fairly confident that all of us at My Portland Photographer can truly and honestly look back on our weddings from this year with a huge amount of gratitude in our hearts. As wedding and portrait photographers, some of our strongest business relationships are with our clients. We reach out and take their emotion and make it our own, smiling as they smile and tearing up ourselves when tears are shed. We celebrate their momentary victories as our own, and feel an inexplicable loss when the wedding is over and goodbyes are said. Their stories, their loves and their families are the substance in our work. We wouldn’t be living this reality without them.

So today, I’d like to say a huge “thank you” to everyone who crossed in front of my lens in 2014. You are remembered and appreciated more than you know!
