Weddings are filled to the brim with happy, joyous and upbeat moments. As a result, the quiet moments of beauty and contemplation often go unnoticed. But as a story teller with a camera at a wedding, it’s my job to make sure that the full range of moods and emotions are captured in pictures. When I work at a wedding, I approach my job with the thought in mind that the wedding photos I’m shooting will be viewed 10, 20, 30 even 50 years into the future. It’s important that they accurately inform anyone viewing the pictures how things felt and looked on one of the most important days in the lives of many of the people in the pictures. I love that I get trusted with the visual memories that families will treasure for a lifetime. That is an awesome responsibility and one that requires a long view of exactly what it is that’s being created. I guess you could say my job is to capture memories that you can hold in your hand.
