Hello there, My Portland Photographer readers! Thank you for continuing to read and share our vendor spotlight articles.
One of the most important aspects of any wedding, is it’s location. Along with the wedding date, the venue is one of the first wedding decisions made by any couple. The wedding venue will serve as the backdrop to the day, making the photographs we will take for you, as memorable as they can be. Mt. Hood Organic Farms is one of our favorite venues to date and we are excited to be featuring them here!
Mt. Hood Organic Farms is owned and managed by the lovely Brady Jacobson and it is located in a valley adjacent to the majestic Mt Hood, just south of the town of Hood River in Oregon. It is about 90 minutes from the city of Portland and only 25 minutes from Hood River. The journey to the farm is just as exciting as the farm itself! The road passes through scenic areas and forests Oregon is so well known for, making any wedding guest’s approach to it, impressive and unforgettable.
Brady and her husband live, own and operate the farm and have one of the greenest thumbs anywhere in the world! The gardens are lush and colorful, the paths are well defined and fun to explore, the cottages are bright, clean and comfortable, and of course, the view of Mt. Hood is majestic, to say the least. The farm is an actual working farm, with seasonal fruits such as apples and pears all around. Brady and her fabulous on-site event coordinator Cassandra, are experts at what they do, always accommodating and incredibly hard working. The photographs included here, should show how impressive the farm is and how beautiful it would be for any sunny, summery, outdoor wedding celebration!
We highly recommend talking to Brady and Cassandra about your wedding day possibilities at Mt. Hood Organic Farms. I have had the pleasure of photographing several weddings at the farm and am happy to say that we, here at MoscaPhoto, have a great working relationship with Brady and her team! Here is a quote from one of the conversations I’ve had with her. She is a sweetheart and well worth getting to know… we love her!
“My husband and I have been living on and organically farming this exquisite piece of land for 30 years. I always thought it would be a wonderful spot for retreats. ten years ago, a friend with a wedding venue told me I had to host weddings at our farm, so I thought I’d see if I liked the idea. It turned out to be something I love and am as passionate about as farming and gardening, and my weddings have become my retreats.
Our place is secluded, although just off of Highway 35 in the gorgeous Upper Hood River Valley, and feels like a destination place without being commercial—no traffic, power lines, or neighborhoods. The views and natural setting here are unique and spectacular, and the grounds and gardens are renowned for their beauty. People have the opportunity to roam around on our 200-acre, park-like property, and love exploring the trails, ponds and 3-acre lake with full views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and the top of Mt. Rainier.
Our amazing caterer is Ginger Power of Orchard House Catering in Hood River. She is an experienced chef, trained in Napa Valley, who specializes in fresh, seasonal, local, organic elegant food served family style. Her beautiful food and extraordinary staff make for a memorable reception in an extraordinary setting.”
Thank you for reading and happy planning!
