Have you ever seen a dance jam? That’s the time at a dance party, or wedding in this case, when all the dancers circle the special couple and steals them for a short dance. Did I mention how much I enjoy shooting the weddings of fellow dancers? Weddings where people are on the dance floor for most of the night are the best parties. And of course, no dance is complete without a great band, and Amy and Dan hired Green Tambourine for their event, one of my favorite bands in Portland. I’ve never been to Springhouse Cellar Winery before this wedding, and let me just tell you what a gorgeous place to have your event at. The space is a converted 1920’s cannery in downtown Hood River, Oregon. If you’re looking for a Columbia Gorge location for your wedding, definitely take a look at this place.
Needless to say – lots of great details done by friends, paper (and real) flowers, tons of swing dancing, and great pies brought by friends. Our friend Rob Donnan was the MC, and Bret Hutchinson was the officiant. Just a fantastic time all around! Catering was done by Boda’s Kitchen, and the tamales were to die for!
It is always a great honor to photograph good friends’ weddings. I have known Amy and Dan for years from swing dancing, and they are a super cute couple. To see more of their fun filled wedding, including how Dan surprised Amy with a beautifully performed song he had been secretly rehearsing, please check out Amy and Dan’s Wedding at Springhouse Cellar Winery in Hood River.
