Rachel and Cat are planning a wedding the week before Christmas at Timberline Lodge. In keeping with the holiday feel of their day, we went out to shoot an engagement photo that took into account what a holiday wedding should look like. One of the great things about Portland is the number of options you have to shoot engagement photos. Not only is it a great way for the couple and the photographer to get to know each other, it’s also fun to be able to incorporate the feel of the city into a wedding that will take place an hour away. Engagement photos are a good idea on many levels. They can be used in a variety of ways on your wedding day. By creating a large print that your guests can sign, or a guest book filled with photos, you can create a keepsake that is unique and fun. An engagement session also gives the couple the chance to see how the photographer they have hired works. And it provides an opportunity for both the photographer and the couple get more comfortable with each other. That always translates into a better day when the wedding rolls around as the couple have some familiarity with the photographer pointing a camera at them.
