Fun Portland Vietnamese Wedding

We love working with clients that come up with cool ideas for their group photos. This bride and groom grew up across the street from each other in Salem, OR. They had a traditional Vietnamese wedding, changing outfits several times, formally greeting guests and family, and even a tea ceremony. They had the classic formal family portraits, but also wanted to have fun and show their personalities in some of the shots. We try our best to accommodate requests like these, so off we went to find a suitable place to shoot this awesome street fighter style photo, with the bridal party wearing their traditional Vietnamese clothes.

This was a last minute booking, on a rare weekend day off. The family called us the day before because their photographer got stuck traveling to the wedding, and couldn’t make it in time. We loved being able to step in last minute and make sure that the bride’s day was stress free.

Like most Asian weddings, it was a 14 hour shoot day. They served two roasted pigs for lunch, along with other traditional Vietnamese dishes. The reception was held at Jin Wah Restaurant in Beaverton, OR, where they served a delicious 10 course seafood meal. What a fun wedding to shoot!
