I met Amy, Matt and their boys in Yachats on a stormy Sunday. One of my favorite spots on the Oregon Coast, Yachats is a cozy little town edged with some of the most dramatic and beautiful craggy coastline I’ve ever encountered. Waves thunder over the rocks at any level of tide, and the forest creeps right up to the shoreline in many places. It has an ancient, otherworldly feel to it–especially on cloudy days.
Amy and Matt are getting married in May, and in lieu of a couples-only engagement session, they opted for family portraits. We wandered along the coastline, stopping in foresty areas and places with splashing waves. This is one of my favorite portraits of all of them.
