One of my favorite things to do is steal the bride and groom away from their reception around sunset and dusk for a few moodier photos. What’s best is that they find it a nice break they might not have taken otherwise, and the facial expressions reflect a different aspect their relationship. There’s such a quiet confidence that all is good between Nick and Jen in this photo.

Hawthorne Bridge Lift

Just as I finished getting lights set for a few shots of Shalene & Josh on The Hawthorne Bridge, a voice crackled over the loud speakers, and a bridge lift was on. My first thought…”@$%$#@!” My second thought…”hey, no traffic…let’s take our time in the middle of the road!”

The Governor, in More Ways Than One

This weekend’s wedding of Taya & Andrew took me to The Governor, where I crossed paths with a prior Governor, and a prior candidate for Governor. I’d say these two certainly chose an appropriate venue for their event!

Light Like Fog!

Erin & Scott were married in Germany so they hosted a reception on their family property in Estacada. The backyard was beautifully landscaped and the light floated around like fog lightly coating every surface perfectly! The analogy is a stretch…but it’s the closest thing I can think of. :)
