First Look
I LOVE Jayson’s reaction to seeing his beautiful bride Sarah for the first time on their wedding day! Many couples opt to take care of formal portraits before the wedding, so we set up a “First Look” which results in priceless images such as this one. To see more of this gorgeous couple, have a look at Sarah and Jayson’s Wedding Day Slideshow.

All Dressed Up!
I LOVE photographing kids, especially when they are decked out in fancy clothes, ready for a wedding! This group of camera ready little ones melted my heart.

Love in an Office Building
Kim and Leon’s wedding ceremony was lovely. The venue’s architecture was simple, clean and modern, and the natural light streaming in the huge windows was glorious. I would have never guessed the lobby of an office building could be such a perfect location for a wedding! Have a look at Kim and Leon’s Boston Wedding Slideshow for highlights of their big day.

So hot!
Kim and Bryant are an absolutely delightful couple! Their wedding took place at the very lovely Pacific Asia Museum in Los Angeles and was a treat to document. I loved everything about their day from Kim’s two custom made outfits, the Vietnamese cultural elements and traditions which were honored, their gorgeous, friendly family and friends, the delicious food (Bryant is a very accomplished Chef) and our oh-so-hot portrait session! This image is one of my favorites!

A Lovely Veil
A veil done right can be the perfect touch completing a bride’s look. Ensieh’s is one my favorites and I just love the drama it creates in this image.

Dapper
For obvious reasons the bride’s wedding day look attracts the most attention. Here’s a shout out to the stylin’ grooms out there, including the ever dapper Ahri! You gentlemen may be overshadowed just a bit by your brides (I’m sure you don’t mind), but we do notice how great you look, too!

In the Moment
Whenever I think back on Lindsay and Matt’s wedding day it brings a smile to my face. Their ceremony and celebration at Bridal Veil Lakes was wonderfully beautiful, but what I always recall is how totally in the moment the two of them were. From the time I showed up to document the girls getting ready to Matt and Lindsay’s sparkler exit, they were present, content and full of joy. No anxiety on their big day, only love. I feel so fortunate to do what I love and to have the opportunity to work with and get to know such fantastic people.

The Devil is in the Details
In this case, it’s actually the Panther. When I learned of Ben’s tattoo I had this shot visualized in my head. The more details we know about the couples we photograph the better. In fact many of our clients become lifelong friends, one of the many perks of this job!

Shoes
As all brides know, just the right shoe is VERY important. I must say Cynthia’s choice couldn’t have been more perfect. Her shoes complimented her vintage gown wonderfully, were stylish, vibrant and comfortable. Cynthia and John’s wedding is nominated for Portland Style Unveiled’s 2009 favorite Portland real wedding AND Cynthia’s shoes are literally in a voting category of their own! Beautiful
Nisha was the epitome of a beautiful bride. Her custom made sari was the icing on the cake. To see more of Nisha and Joe’s breathtaking rooftop Hotel Deluxe wedding have a look at their slideshow.

First Look
Many couples choose to have their portraits session prior to the wedding ceremony. This frees up time after the wedding to visit with guests, enjoy the reception, and it ensures great light and adequate time to create beautiful images. We do what we can to ensure the first time a groom sees his bride in her gown is truly special. Many of my favorite wedding day images are captured during these sweet moments! I adore this image of Lana and Ryan’s First Look, it’s a sweet moment captured forever.

What’s Not to Love!?
I love Engagement Sessions! Alex and Janina chose Edgefield as the location for theirs and we had a blast roaming around such a gorgeous property. Despite the bitter cold evening they were great sports. I’d say we all earned the celebratory beer we enjoyed at the wrap of the session!

Quiet Moment
Celeste and Geoff took a bit of time alone (well, almost, I got to tag along) to enjoy their first moments as a newlywed couple. It’s such an honor to be able to document such a special day in a couple’s life, I sure love my job!

Fun with the bridal party
Angie and I were THRILLED with the opportunity to travel to Boston to document Kim and Leon’s late-September wedding. They are a most fabulous couple; kind, hospitable and lovely on the inside and out! Their bridal party was SO MUCH FUN, we had the freedom (and the time) for a handful of different poses with the group. Of course we got the standard group shot, then we mixed things up a bit! The ceremony was held at The Winter Garden in the Seaport District followed by dinner, dancing and celebration at Betty’s Wok and Noodle. To see more have a look at Kim + Leon’s Wedding Day slideshow.

Celebrate!
The morning began with traditional Tea Ceremonies, first at Thi’s family’s home then at Mark’s family’s home. Both ceremonies were very special, steeped in beauty and tradition, and were such a treat to photograph! Angie and I were lucky to have the very talented Paul Rich along to help us document the two ceremonies. Thanks again, Paul, you’re fantastic! Following the Tea Ceremonies, Angie, the Bridal Party and I had a fun portrait session at Laurelhurst Park. The celebration at the Doubletree Hotel Lloyd Center was in full force that evening, complete with a live band, multi-course dinner, table visits by the bridal party which featured toasts to the newlyweds and hilarious games, and one raging dance party. To see highlights from their day have a look at Thi + Mark’s slideshow!

Dancing the Hora
The Hora, an expression of joy and celebration and one of many special Jewish wedding traditions, was one of the highlights of Rachel and Dave’s wedding day.
