Paul I can’t answer your question (see three posts below) because I like the story no matter where the wedding takes place. But I can tell you somethings I like at a wedding.

A dock, on a pond at a winery, with nice evening light. Perfect recipe for great photos.

Dan and Neal were married earlier this summer at Airlie Winery outside of Corvallis. They wanted to have the ceremony on the dock but it was not quite big enough. It did make made for great photos of them as the sun was setting over the coast range.

Summer of Sky and Clouds

This summer has had some great clouds in the sky and I love it. Don’t get me wrong I like warm summer days with not a cloud to be found.

But on wedding days I want a few big white fluffy clouds to blow in.

Clouds add drama, tension and depth to photos.

A few weeks ago at Justin and Amanda’s wedding the clouds burned off just in time to get a nice photo of them before sunset.

Rugby Style

Justin, the groom, is a rugby player. So naturally his friends and groomsmen are also rugby players.

When the time came for the garter toss, out of nowhere two of the players picked up a third and raised him high above everyone else to snatch the garter out of the air. This apparently is what their team does when the score a goal.

I don’t know much about Rugby, but I do know Rugby players are fun to have at weddings. It was an unexpected moment at a wonderful wedding full of them.

Love is Love

I photographed my first commitment ceremony last Friday at the Grand Ballroom in Salem. It was a wonderful ceremony filled with love happiness and joy. Just like all the weddings I shoot.

I don’t understand how in the year 2010 some in our society does not recognize, or understand, that the love between and man and a woman is the same as the love between and woman and women or man and a man. We are all people and everyone deserves the same rights. Deb and Jihesheia I wish you a long and happy marriage.
