No Mommy, I Can Do It!
A couple of the flower girls from a recent wedding at Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast decided that they would just do their own hair themselves and not wait for the stylist. I love these little moments during the wedding that tell a story within a story!

Love in the City Streets
Portland’s city streets make the perfect backdrop for this intimate portrait session from a wedding at the Governor Hotel . Even the moon came out to say hi!

The Guys Getting Ready at Zenith Vineyards
The guys taking a brief break between playing the pin ball machine and watching Wedding Crashers at this Zenith Vineyards Wedding. The “getting ready” photos are always a great way to meet the whole wedding party and families before the wedding officially begins.

Summer Wedding at Mt. Hood
Taking a little time to step back from all the action and take a look at the bigger picture. This beautiful wedding at Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast had the most scenic backdrop as meadows leading to Mt. Hood fill the view.

A Little Wind
A little gust of wind takes up the brides veil and swirls it around for a moment at this Wine Country Farm wedding. Little happy accidents are a great thing, especially if you’re prepared with camera in hand.

Priorities
Wedding humor at it’s finest. The groom finishing up his cocktail during the first dance. Romantic no. Funny and memorable yes. This Wedding at the Treasury Ballroom was fantastic and elegant, I wasn’t expecting such a silly moment to occur.

The Guys
I was hanging out with the guys while they were nervously sipping on their micro brews at this Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast wedding. The little rustic cabins make a great background for the guys. Photographing weddings at Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast is so great, because it is filled with a ton of great nooks to photograph in, and a breath taking view of Mt. Hood too.

May We Have The Rings Please???
I love storytelling moments like this from a recent Kruger’s Farms wedding. Viewing this image we can tell the whole story of what happened. Sometimes on such a big day the smallest things can go overlooked, unfortunately that small thing was the wedding rings. Luckly, they were safe back in her dressing room.
Hopefully Kruger’s Farms will be open once again for farm weddings, it’s such a cool venue!

Take 5 Before the Reception Begins
Previous Portland Trailblazer and current Phoneix Sun Channing Frye and his new bride Lauren take 5 between their ceremony and reception. We love photographing weddings at Garden Vineyards, its such a great place, and there are so many cool places to photograph. This wedding was featured in the most recent Portland Bride & Groom Magazine.

A View From Above Timberline
I always love to be in the Mt. Hood area during the summer months, this wedding at Timberline Lodge was no different. The bride and groom met at a snowboarding trip and they got married at Timberline Lodge. How perfect!

The Wave
Known in many ballparks to bring the crowd together as one, “The Wave” makes an appearance at this wedding at Mcmenamins Edgefield. During one of the toasts a guest jumped up and started the wave down the main table. I love spontaneous moments like this, especially when I get to photograph it!

Wedding Photographers in Training
Photographing this father daughter dance at a wedding at the beautiful Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast I noticed how disposable cameras always seem to end up in the hands of the children at weddings. I’ve always wondered both how the images turned out, and if the child is somehow inspired to become a photographer! Maybe this will be the image of the next great photographer using a camera for the first time.

Cowboys in the Portland Art Museum
We photographed this fun reception at the Portland Art Museum where all the men in the wedding party wore cowboy hats. There was a bit of a western theme to the wedding, especially when we discovered that all the tables were named after brands of whiskey.

Love at the Virginia Cafe
Taking a little walk from the couples wedding at the Adrianna Hill Ballroom, we found this moody scene in front of the Virginia Cafe. I love low light photography especially capturing the ambiance of the light that is occurring naturally. Sometimes it’s important to step away from the bells and whistles of big flashes and just shoot what’s available.

Kids Practicing Their Mohawks!
We caught these kids having fun in the brides “getting ready” room at Wine Country Farms. Mohawks are a pretty easy hairdo even for a novice hair stylist. As a WPJA runner up in the world for best wedding photojournalist we focus on telling the story of your wedding day.

Let Them Eat Pie!
We see a lot of creative themes in the weddings we photograph. Our couples are always thinking outside of the box when it comes to their wedding’s uniqueness.

Let’s Get Married in Mexico!
When you get to get married in Zihuatanejo, Mexico or other places similar, everyone that attends gets a super sweet vacation on top of being at your wedding! I travel to many locations in Mexico for destination weddings each year and this is how excited everyone is, I love it!

We Never Nap
As a wedding photojournalist I always have to be on my toes for the unexpected. After a tiring afternoon of handing out wedding programs this little guy decided to take a nap during the ceremony. He missed out on a lot, as weddings at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden are quite beautiful!

Destination Weddings Within Oregon
I love traveling around the world photographing destination weddings, but what’s really great is when it’s in my own backyard! We see a lot of couples coming to Oregon to celebrate their wedding. Oregon is filled with some amazing places, and I’m always excited about traveling to local places I love, or local places I haven’t discovered yet. Recently we photographed a wedding at Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood, which I often visit on my days off.

Photographing the Final Preparations
I love the “getting ready” moments, especially from this wedding at McMenamins Edgefield. Photographing both the bride and groom with their friends and family while they finish the final details is so much fun! It also allows me to get to know everyone before the rest of the day progresses. I find this makes people be less aware of the camera and be themselves allowing for great candid moments.
