Groomsmen
There is nothing like pulling a great image out of a turn of events. During the session with the groom and his groomsmen at Edgefield, a blast of rain sent us into the Distillery. The guys took advantage of a little time to relax and I got one of my all time favorite groomsmen images. We ended up finishing up the session in that hallway, which opened up time for a Hammerhead at the bar, which made for very happy groomsmen. All in day’s work.

Before We Met

Air Guitar is so 2008!
Sarah and Matt were married at her family home outside Corvallis and celebrated well into the wee hours. When the sun went down, the glow sticks came out. Matt literally didn’t miss a beat!

The Grand Entrance!
Forget the grand send off! Whitney and Ryan’s guests opted to meet, cheer and high five them immediately after the couple sealed the deal with a kiss. The line of well wishers spanned the entire walk from the Queen Anne’s gazebo into the historic mansion. I’m pretty sure the cheers were heard from downtown Portland to downtown Vancouver! It was simply joyful!

Group Hug!
Who says wedding party pictures need to be stiff and boring? Even your “formal” and “posed” images can tell the story of your day. Here is one of my favorites from Megan and Mark’s wedding at the Mount Hood Bed and Breakfast. I was with Megan and her bridesmaids, with a little time to spare, so we decided an impromptu photo session was in order. The result? An image that totally captured the spirit of love and friendship in that cabin, and one of everybody’s favorites!
It’s not just the journalistic photographs that tell the story of your day. Every image should be a chapter in the story.

Forgot the Hankie
Never let it be said that we discriminate against the groom! A couple of weeks ago, we posted Kelly doing her best to avoid pre wedding tears. This week, is our groom wiping his away after the ceremony. Who knew that ties could serve a dual purpose! This photo from Erika and Rory’s Timberline wedding took honors from Wedding Photojournalist’s Association in the Humor category.

Her Mother and I do, Danno!
What happens when the bride, groom, and father of the bride are all in law enforcement? Lindsay’s dad made sure that it was a done deal by cuffing the couple together at the giving away ceremony, sending the crowd from tears of emotion to tears of laughter.
