When Stephen and Holly started wedding planning, they tapped both their mothers for help. They held the ceremony and reception at Stephen’s mother’s home deep in Forest Grove – “as rural as it gets in the Portland area” according to Stephen. And Holly’s mother arranged the majority of the flowers as well as built the arbor under which the couple spoke their vows. With both mothers helping so much, the rest of the planning seemed to take care of itself.
If you’re looking for a way to personalize your wedding, this is the stuff dreams are made of. They also had a family friend officiate, got ready for the day in family homes and plenty more. A sunset wedding ceremony and twilight backyard wedding reception might just be the topping on the icing on the cake. They knew they were rolling the dice with an autumn wedding in Oregon but they got lucky in the best ways!
Some wedding photos hold impact, others show an emotional moment. And we’ll take all of those, too. But we love this photo for the quiet story it tells, the background that tells the meaningful story here. Check out more of Holly and Stephen’s wedding day on our own blog.
