A Winter Wedding on The Oregon Coast

There are plenty of beautiful beaches in Oregon and Washington that are picture perfect for a wedding. I would bet that any summer weekend you could spot a couple tying the knot on beaches from the Puget Sound to Bandon. But what do you do when your dream is to be married on the beach, but your wedding date falls on the last week on December? It’s simple. You get married on the beach.

Katy and Corey were looking for photographers who would embrace the day as whole heartedly as they, their four guests, and officiant would. If it rained, we would celebrate a wedding in the rain (okay, I think it’s safe to say that everyone breathed a sigh of relief when there was no rain in the forecast!) With longjohns under her dress, a beautiful white wool coat over her dress, Katy met Corey at an archway they brought from their garden at home on a little known strip of the beach in Pacific City. 20 minutes later, they sealed the deal with a kiss, and shared a glass of champagne, hugs, and wandered the beach with us for a memorable portrait session.

And with that, our 2013 wedding season came to a memorable end. 2013 was a remarkable year for weddings and we thank each and every couple who included us in your day. You put the Joy in The Art of Joy!

  • So sweet. You can see the joy they are sharing. Beautiful photograph!
