Cold Ice, Warm Love

moscaphoto-icecave-01 In honor of the rains having returned to our beloved Pacific Northwest, here is an image from our most unique engagement sessions to date.

Wendi and Danny are lovers of winter and winter-related activities. It was only fitting for them to want to explore the forests of Washington state, via snow shoe and ice cave. This place was enchanting to say the least. We met in Hood River and followed them as they paved the trail to the trail head near Mt Adams. We drove to where the snow was too deep to go through and then geared up with snow shoes and waterproof clothes.

We trekked through the snow for a couple of miles before finding the entrance to the Ice Cave. It was magical! We climbed down the wooden steps and explored the pitch black cave with helmets and head lamps. We did bring an extra propane lamp and remote flashes so that we could illuminate the otherwise dark space. Drops of water were dripping from the ice stalactites as stalagmites emerged from the cave floor.

This particular image was taken at the end of our cave exploration. They had already reached the opening, we had already gathered our remote equipment.
I looked up at them and noticed the beautiful natural light coming down from above AND the heart shaped cave entrance. It was just so perfect!

There is something so special and unique to our couples, when they realize we are open for just about anything for their engagement sessions.
It’s their time to shine and we love to be there to photograph them where they truly love to be.
