Come On In… the Water’s Fine!

randy-kepple-portland-wedding-photographer-71 Was the water cold? Yes, it would take your breath away. But that did not stop Leianna from putting on her dress the day after her wedding and running through the woods to jump into the icy water.

Trash the Dress sessions are what we call them. It seems to polarize most brides. Most are horrified to think of getting a spot on their wedding dresses, then there are a rare few like Leianna. In her own words, “Why not?” One of the first female snowcat drivers in the world at Mt. Hood, where she met her husband, she lives her life to the fullest— on her terms. Embracing the spirit of fun, she even inspired me to walk into the frigid waters.

Why trust this once-in-a-lifetime moment to anyone but a professional? Your life as art. Inspired photography by Randy Kepple Photographs.

Leianna Krieg - This photo shoot is one of the best memories from my wedding weekend! It was really fun and was really nice to relax in my wedding dress! If something got on it who cared, not me!Plus the pics that I have seen so far are totaly worth it!!! AND yes the water was freezing. Burrrrr!!!!!

Alexis - Stunning image Randy! This would look fab as a large canvas!

Jamie Bosworth - This beats every other trash the dress shot I have ever seen… beautifully crafted and just completely unique. Bravo!

Randy Kepple - Thanks guys! Leianna was definitely a rare bride, indeed! This was her idea and she’s the one brave enough to step into the cold water. I love her gusto for life!

And I agree, this one will be printed LARGE for my studio wall. Just not sure if I want to print it as a metallic print or a canvas print…
