Driving Miss Daisy

Put the father of the bride behind the wheel of his favorite car and all is well with the world. Every time I see this image of dad and his beautifully restored Packard Sedan, I think of the movie Driving Miss Daisy.

Most fathers are quiet on their daughter’s wedding day. As if they were trying to take it all in. The lifetime of memories playing in their minds like a favorite movie. Driving his daughter to her wedding in a car that reflects his passion and the long hours of time creating what it is in that moment is a beautiful metaphor of raising a daughter.

Creating timeless, artistic images you will treasure forever is more than a statement. It’s a passion. Visit Randy Kepple Photographs to see more of my work. Need a photographer? See who’s available!

Jamie Bosworth - Oh Mr. Kepple!

As the daughter of a quiet father, I recognized so much of this… I miss him so much. I hope all fathers are happy to have had the experience.

Sweet post!

Randy Kepple - Thanks Jamie… I’m assuming you get your passion for cars and the culture of cars from your father?

I’m afraid my daughters have a father who is anything but quiet. Reserved, but not quiet. I wish I had a car like this. Then again, I couldn’t afford the maintenance and insurance.

It was a great moment and one of the joys of doing what we do.

Rebekah Johnson - Oooooh Daddy. Me likes!
Funny reading the above just now. My dad returned today from nearly two months on a road trip. Some guys just love to drive the blacktop. I hope I’m doing that when I am 82.

Randy Kepple - I love that phrase Rebekah! How very true, including my own father. He LOVES driving the blacktop. No doubt about it.
