American Gothic

One of the most parodied artworks within American popular culture is American Gothic by Frank Wood.

What makes this so appealing for a wedding photograph (aside from the obvious parody) is that it doesn’t require any posing. Stiff, formal and uncomfortable? No problem! An instant classic, this image remains one of my favorite ways to start the day with my couples. It usually leads to laughter and lots of sighs.

Incorporating art history into the wedding day is one of the reasons a professional wedding photographer is a clear choice for your wedding day.
