Takako wanted to wear a traditional kimono, but something with a modern flair. This kimono is designed by Kanda Uno, a famous model, TV actress and designer in Japan. Her dresses and kimonos draw elements of design from Europe, while still keeping Japanese traditions intact. It is very rare to buy a wedding kimono in Japan as they cost as much as a nice car. Typically a woman in Japan will wear a wedding kimono, a wedding dress and an evening gown or two on her wedding day. To see Takako’s second kimono please see my blog.
